From Stones to Stunning Creations – The Making of this Butterfly Ring & Pendant
We recently completed these breathtaking butterfly pieces and wanted to share the journey behind their creation.
It all began with a selection of exquisite spinel and tourmaline gemstones, each chosen for its unique brilliance and character. What started as loose stones was transformed in our on-site Claremont workshop into two truly special designs: a ring and pendant, beautifully crafted to reflect the elegance and symbolism of the butterfly.
The Inspiration Behind the Design
When we sourced these stunning spinel and tourmaline stones, their soft hues and natural radiance immediately inspired us. We envisioned a piece that would capture grace, transformation, and nature’s effortless elegance, a butterfly.
The butterfly, a timeless symbol of renewal, hope, and freedom, was the perfect muse. We knew these gemstones, with their rich colour and vibrancy, would shine in an intricate yet wearable design. And so, the idea of a matching ring and pendant took flight.
Bringing the Design to Life
With the concept in place, our skilled jewellers in our on-site Claremont workshop meticulously brought the vision to reality. Each step of the process required precision and artistry to ensure that every detail was executed flawlessly.
✨ Selecting the Perfect Setting: The warmth of 18ct yellow gold was the perfect complement to the rich tones of the spinel and tourmaline, enhancing their vibrancy while adding a luxurious contrast.
✨ Adding a Touch of Brilliance: To complete the design, we adorned the butterfly’s antennae with sparkling diamonds, adding movement, light, and a refined finishing touch.
✨ Handcrafting the Pieces: Every cut, curve, and setting was shaped and finished by hand, ensuring that both the ring and pendant were not only visually stunning but also comfortable and durable for everyday wear.
The result? Two exquisite, handcrafted pieces, each capturing the spirit of transformation and beauty that inspired them.
